See three mills in action, powered by the waters of the Gleyzin mountain river. A mix of smells and sounds that takes you back to the daily life of the peasant-workers of yesteryear. All tours are fully guided.
The museum is a perfect representation of what the work at the forge was. There, our guides will show and explain in details how the Forge and Mills were used. The museum is a wonderful place for kids who will enjoy seeing all the old machines running (watch out though, as the hammer is very noisy and can scare the little ones). If you want to experience this old way of living you will like to visit the place so put it on you to-do list.

After an extensive renovation, the Musée d'Allevard now welcomes you in its new setting, the former casino of the Parc Thermal d'Allevard. Discover the Allevard region and the major activities that have marked its history.
From the metallurgical industry to the spa, via the ski slopes of Collet, you'll discover how its natural resources - iron ore, thermal water and “white gold” - have shaped the Pays d'Allevard over the centuries.

The fun, varied exhibition combines objects, multimedia, games, hands-on activities and models to help you discover and understand the evolution of a mountain region rich in history.

To keep up to date with the Museum's activities, visit the website or follow the Museums du Grésivaudan Facebook page.
