Outdoor sport & respect for biodiversity
Share nature

In Isère and everywhere else, we share our living spaces with remarkable flora and fauna that must be preserved. How can you identify it? Where is it found? What are its characteristics? We’ve got all the information you need right here.

Find out more about the biodiversity you’ll encounter depending on the sport you practise!

Birds of prey and free flight

Which birds of prey do you share the sky with? What behaviour do our feathered friends display when they are disturbed?  Where are the ‘bubbles of tranquillity’ to be avoided in our department?

Find out all the rules for flying over the Isère mountain ranges: the Chartreuse, the Vercors, the Écrins and Belledonne !

Climbing and biodiversity

The cliffs of the Isère are home to a remarkable diversity of flora and fauna which you may have had the chance to spot during your activity. Find out more with our leaflets!

Canyons and biodiversity

Discover the biodiversity of canyons: the habitats and environments that characterise them, and the flora and fauna that inhabit them.

Situated at the interface between aquatic, rocky and riparian environments, steep-sided watercourses constitute rich, complex, dynamic and evolving ecosystems, which have long remained little known and well-preserved due to their difficult access.

These booklets offer an introduction to the biodiversity found in canyons.
